ILES DE LA MADELEINE
A six hour ferry ride to the Magdalen Islands and the first Island is Entry Island or Isle d'Entree, this is the only inhabitated island that is not connected to the remainder of the islands by bridges or sandbars. This small island makes up 5% of the english speaking inhabitants of the Magdalens.

Below is a carving of fisherman at work and in the next photo the fisher is cutting up some fresh mackerel for his own use.
What looks like a ship or barge just above the break water is really a part of the rocks and coastline that has been sculpted by local artisans. Click on the same images at the top of this page for a closer view.
There were many statues and crosses overlooking the sea.

New Friends From The U.S. A.
August 14th, 2007 we met Walking Adventures International and trekked out to the Uisge Bans Falls and the North Baddeck River Trails. A great day of walking with wonderful new friends from the USA.

The picture to the left features some of the seashells that Shirley Pettigrew hand painted and donated to all participants who attended the dinner at Fortress Louisbourg. The shells are sitting on a book presented by the CBIH membership to the club president Rollie Coombes. The card on the right of the same photo reads:"Near The Sea We Forget To Count The Days".
