The Trek Into Money Point

The View from our Start Point,2K from Bay Road Valley.
The view overlooks Bay St Lawerence and to the left is a portion of Meat Cove.




After 6k we reach the top of the trail into Money Point about another 2k to the lighthouse.






Along the Coastal Trail towards Money Point and a glimpse of the lighthouse.




Heading Backup the mountain we take one of many Breaks!!

In the photo above you can see St Paul's Island and I am told it is the most northerly point of Nova Scotia while we were at the most northerly point of Cape Breton. Thats Bill Hopkins making his way down the trail to the coastal plain below.




Why our Cape Breton is considered one of the most scenic Islands in the world.

CAPE BRETON, WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM

Its true! I swear it and now we have the proof.
Phil and Anne Irons have led several walks along the Broad Cove Trail near Inverness and each time the Buffalo would not cooperate. They usually hide in the nearby woods or they were so far off in the distance they were hard to distinguish and members of our group were somewhat skeptical but now we have the proof. Note these photos were taken shortly after our walk event in Inverness on Sunday September 4th.

GHOST BEACH, SATURDAY 13 AUGUST 2005

After crossing the causeway to the mainland the group returned to the Island and proceeded along Ghost Beach which is located behind the DFO and Coast Guard Complex at the locks. We then crossed over a Bailey bridge, now known as "Ghost Bridge", that was installed by 45 Field Engineers out of Victoria Park, Sydney.
